Our brand new STRIVE programme is a new entry point for students with grades of mostly 4s. An opportunity to boost grades before A Levels or other level 3 courses.
It will comprise of mostly GCSEs at higher tier level, with the additional opportunity to experience Level 3 study with an AS Level.
This course will equip learners with the academic skills and attributes required for success on a full A Level pathway, T Levels, or other higher-level study.
You will be studying an intensive one-year programme that consists of the following:
- GCSE English
- GCSE Maths (Higher)
- GCSE Combined Science (Higher)
- Level 3 Core Maths
What you'll learn
During the course we will prepare you with the relevant study skills and attributes to ensure you are ready to progress to A Levels, or other Level 3 qualifications, for example BTEC Extended Diplomas, with the aim of progressing to university or employment/an apprenticeship.
How you'll learn and be assessed
You will study using a range of techniques including:
- group work
- independent study
- research
- practical activities
- homework
We expect our students to be fully committed to their studies and attend all timetabled lessons, talks, tutorials and workshops. You will also have a weekly tutorial.
In addition, students can expect to attend trips and visits according to the needs of the individual subjects.
This GCSE/AS is assessed by a final exam.
Entry requirements
You will need 5 GCSE grade 4s including English and maths.
