Activate Learning’s Learning Environments website gives you access to textbooks, information and research materials to help you to study independently and with confidence. Even in this current climate, we are here for you.
Each course has its own course resource page, organised by faculty and then by subjects. Here, you can find all the databases and journals that we currently subscribe to, links for your ALO course and your reading lists. Where available, you can also find links for industry-relevant websites and magazines.
There are even resources to help you with your English and maths.
If you’re studying an Access to Higher Education course with us, you can access university-hosted resources from Oxford Brookes University and the University of Northampton, as well as a whole host of resources which are grouped by course.
Need some help with referencing? Don’t worry, we’ve got your back with our referencing guides.
You can access software including Office 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sage and HTC VIVE VR to help you with your learning and coursework.
You’ll also find a link to our online catalogue which gives you access to over 6,000 eBooks across a huge range of subjects. Never used them before? Do not fret, there are also How to guides for information and how to access the catalogue and databases.
Additionally, your local library will also have lots of online resources that you can tap into. You can still join the library online even if you’re not a member!
Oxfordshire libraries
Oxfordshire libraries offer eBooks, eAudiobooks along with access to UK magazines and newspapers through their catalogue, Borrowbox, OverDrive, RBdigital and PressReader services.
Reading library
Reading Library offers online access to eBooks, eAudio and eMagazines.
Bracknell Forest libraries
Bracknell Forest libraries’ online resources include eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, e newspapers, e journals, encyclopaedias, family history, consumer and legal information.
Surrey libraries
If you live in Surrey, you can tap into a whole range of eAudiobooks, eBooks, eMagazines and eComics and their online reference shelf.
Issuu
Lastly don’t forget to check out Issuu where you can access everything from magazines, book excerpts, catalogues and look books to portfolios. If you’ve ever fancied creating your own online publication, issuu is also an online publishing platform.
