Donning their favourite football team’s colours, students and staff from the sports department rallied support from other colleagues and students across the Activate Learning group.
The annual event, organised by the Bobby Moore Fund on the 20 November, raises funds to support Cancer Research UK.
The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK was set up by Stephanie Moore MBE in memory of her husband Bobby Moore, who was 51 when he passed away from bowel cancer. The fund focuses on raising money to fund pioneering bowel cancer research.
Teachers and students raised over £120 with a target of £100 for the day.
Ben Wright, Sports Tutor at City of Oxford College, said: ”This is an event we have been running over the last three years and year-on-year it has grown in popularity.
“We have a lot of fun seeing the varied teams’ students and staff support, it tends to be a great conversation starter and helps spread awareness of the Bobby Moore fund and the fantastic research they do on bowel cancer.
“We are glad we got so many people involved and surpassed our target of raising £100.”
If you’d like to still get involved, you can donate to the cause via the Activate Learning Fundraise page for Football Shirt Friday.
