Bracknell and Wokingham College would like to congratulate all the students who passed their A Level qualifications today. The college celebrates a 96% pass rate.
Ten of the 14 A Level subjects at Bracknell and Wokingham College secured 100% pass rates, with a 7% improvement in A*-C grades.
The Bracknell and Wokingham College Biology A Level department achieved a 100% pass rate, for the second year running, 7% above the national average.
Other notable A Level subjects that achieved a 100% pass rate include:
- Government and Politics, for the third year running, 5% above the national average.
- Law, for the third year in a row, 5% above the national average.
- Maths, for the second year in a row, 6% above the national average.
- Physics, for the third year in a row, 5% above the national average.
Hannah O’Neill, Group Director of Academic Studies Faculty at Activate Learning, said: “We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our A Level students at Activate Learning.
“Today is a celebration of their hard work, dedication and resilience, and we share in their achievements with great joy.
“Many of our learners have overcome personal and educational challenges on their journeys, and their results are only part of their stories.
“Our staff will be on hand throughout results day to support students with their next steps if required, offering advice and guidance on the clearing process and helping them to explore the many opportunities that lie ahead.
“We wish all of our learners every success for their futures. I would also like to thank the incredible team of teachers, managers and other colleagues who work tirelessly to support learners.”
Caitlin Wyeth, 19, from Bracknell, was one of the college’s top performers, achieving three grade As in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. She will now take up an offer from the University of Southampton to study a BSc degree in Pharmacology.
Caitlin said: “I’m over the moon! I didn’t expect this! I can’t believe it, I’m speechless. I’m happy that I got what I needed to go to university.
“The teaching here was very relaxed. There’s no pressure. They supported me well. The teachers are very friendly so you don’t feel afraid speaking to them and they always made the time to help me.
“I am so excited about going to university! It’s one of the most exciting things that I’ve done in my life. I can’t wait to leave home and get my independence started!”
Logan Magnier-Mould, 18, from Bracknell, achieved three grade As in Mathematics, Physics and Psychology. He will now take up an offer to study a BEng degree in Engineering at the University of Warwick.
Logan said: “I’m quite happy with my results. I got into university which is what matters. There was some apprehension as I wasn’t sure if I would get what I did.
“It was great at college, really good teachers.
“I feel excited about going to university. Nervous too, but that’s to be expected.”
Amelie Butt, 18, from Bracknell, achieved a grade A in Mathematics, and two grade Bs in Biology and Chemistry. She will now take up an offer to study a BVSc Veterinary Science degree at the University of Bristol.
Amelie said: “I’m happy with my results. I got what I needed for university so I’m happy.
“It was good at college. I had a good time. It was very supportive and I really enjoyed it.
“The teaching was good, very holistic, personal and supportive. The teachers were happy to do one-to-ones.
“I’m excited to go to university. I’ve been excited for ages!”
Artem Zinchuk, 20, from Bracknell, achieved two grade As in Mathematics and Physics and a grade B in Psychology. Artem is a Ukrainian refugee who previously studied a GCSE pathway at the college and then progressed onto A Level. He will now take up an offer to study a BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Surrey.
Artem said: “I am happy with my results. The teaching was really good, I thank all my teachers, especially Bal.”
