Get Further

If you want to improve your GCSE results in English or Maths, Get Further provide weekly tutoring sessions that can help!

Get Further offers free, weekly tutoring sessions for English and Maths GCSE. Students who sign up will receive face-to-face support from a tutor in small groups (max. 3 students).

In your sessions, you will set personal learning goals with your tutor and work through a booklet that builds your confidence and skills in key areas that will help you to pass your GCSE exam.

Students can sign up to do one or both subject(s). For each subject, students will receive 1 hour of support, once a week. Sessions will be scheduled for a slot that fits in with their timetable and other commitments. Sessions will take place within the college campus (exact location TBC).

The programme is open to students who don’t currently have a grade 4 in English and/or Maths and are 16-19 years old.

Students with an EHCP are eligible for the programme up to the age of 25.

We are proud to have seen incredible progress among Get Further students from previous years:

• During the 2021/22 academic year, our GCSE maths pass rate was 147% higher than the national average, and average progress was 7.4 times higher than the national average.
• Our GCSE English pass rate was 39% higher than the national average, and average progress was 6.5% higher than the national average.
• 9/10 students said they felt more confident in English/maths since receiving tuition through Get Further.
