Sporting industries need people with an adoration for fitness, teamwork and enthusiasm! Do you think you have what it takes to collaborate with people and expand your health and wellbeing?
With this course, you will have the opportunity to develop your sports and coaching abilities while learning about professional conduct and behaviours required to be a professional athlete. Simultaneously, you will work towards achieving GCSE maths and English.
All units are graded to encourage you to demonstrate your management of activities within first-hand settings during work experience.
What you'll learn
This qualification consists of credits, so you will study four core units and six optional units.
To lay the foundation for your career or further study, your learning will consist of core units, including:
- organisational skills
- developing a personal progression plan
- working with others
- researching a topic
You will also have the chance to choose optional units in order to specialise, such as:
- how exercise affects the body
- playing sport
- training for fitness
- keeping active and healthy
- running a sports event
- coaching skills in sport
At the end of the qualification you will gain the BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport.
NCFE L2 in Sport
Applicants for a Level 1 programme will normally have:
- a strong interest in their chosen programme of study
- the commitment to work towards improving English and maths as part of the programme
- the ability to discuss past experiences of education and future ambitions within a group
This programme is for young people interested in coaching in the future; you will independently find your own work experience opportunities that are meaningful and linked to the sport of your choice.
