This Construction Level 2 study programme at Bracknell and Wokingham College will give you an introduction to a variety of construction trades and a basic grounding in a variety of skills.
You will gain skills in specific trade areas, and this will help you decide which trade is the right one for you and your future career. The following construction trades are covered within the programme:
- Carpentry and joinery
- Construction operations
Upon successful completion of this programme, you can progress onto an apprenticeship within your chosen trade.
What you'll learn
You’ll learn basic construction skills and knowledge and undertake various practical and knowledge-based activities.
How you'll learn and be assessed
Practical sessions take place in fully equipped workshops supported by theoretical sessions to provide foundation knowledge and understanding.
You’ll be assessed through practical projects and written assignments.
Four GCSEs at grades 3 (D) or above in English language, maths and science or achievement on a Level 1 course.
Completion of a Level 1 Construction course is also acceptable supported with GCSE English and Maths alongside a reference from a college tutor.
You must demonstrate self-motivation and a keen interest in the subject area.
