This qualification is primarily aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals eg: surveyors, consultants and other trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of IET Wiring Regulations.

It is also suitable for anyone wishing to demonstrate an understanding of the IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

The IET Wiring Regulations are the definitive standards for the electrical industry in respect of safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. They set requirements and operating criteria for the UK and correspond to EC standards and are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS 7671). It is intended to ensure that individuals are conversant with the format, content and application of the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018.

 

The course is delivered in the classroom by experienced tutor.

There will be an invigilated on-line assessment, comprising of 60 questions, over 2 hours.

This course is a pre-requisite for the Level 3 Inspection and Testing courses, C&G 2391-50/51/52, and the Electric Vehicle Charging Installations, C&G 2921-34 course.

There are no formal entry requirements for learners undertaking this qualification. However, centres must ensure that learners have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification.

It is expected that learners will have basic knowledge of electrical science.

You should bring along a copy of BS7671:2018:A2 (2022), calculator, and pens.
