Here’s what you can expect from your first few weeks at college

The start of term is almost here, and we are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back on campus again.

As we’ve told you over the summer, the start of term will be a bit different this year due to the fact that we are trying to manage the number of people in college at any one time.

The first three weeks of college will be delivered online for most learners, unless there are special circumstances that require you to come on-site.

The first three weeks of term

During these three weeks, you’ll get an introduction to your programmes and receive information that will help you to settle in. After these first three weeks, you’ll switch to your blended learning timetable, which will see your learning split between on-site and online teaching.

Don’t worry if you haven’t received your timetable yet as these will be given to you during these first three weeks.

If you have any questions though, you can always contact us and we will be able to answer these.

Update on face coverings in college

As you might have seen in the news, there’s been a lot of discussion around whether students at secondary schools and colleges should be wearing face coverings.

While we are taking every precaution we can to minimise the risk to you in college, we have decided that we think it would be a sensible move to ask all students to wear face coverings in communal areas and in corridors once everyone is in college. The same goes for our staff. This means together we will keep safe!

We know that there will be some of you who will have good reason not to wear them, and for those we will make special arrangements.

You won’t have to wear them in class, but we won’t stop anyone from doing this if they would prefer to do so.

Until then, enjoy the last few days of your summer break and we look forward to seeing you soon!
