Activate Learning has launched a student IT helpline to assist students studying remotely.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the majority of teaching at Activate Learning colleges moved online on 20 March.
This new helpline, which started operating on Monday 27 April, supports all college sites, including colleges in Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey.
Students can now call the Student IT support line and speak to an IT technician via a dedicated phone number during college hours.
Leia Mills, Group Director of IT Services at Activate Learning, said: “With so many of our learners now studying remotely, we wanted to make sure they were able to access their learning in a stress-free way and to be able to support them with any technical issues they may have.
“Historically, students have not been able to directly access the service desk, however, we took stock of the current situation and reviewed the support that was needed and were able to dedicate more resources to be able to launch this support line for them.
“We really hope this makes a difference to them and look forward to continuing to support them in their online studies.”
In addition to this, Activate Learning have also launched additional IT resources for students. This includes useful how to guides and software that students can access via their online learning portals.
